Lucian Țion worked for over 10 years as a teacher in international schools from Cameroon to Bangladesh and as an independent theater and film director in Romania and the United States. He contributed to various regional publications such as New Eastern Europe, fascinated by the politics of the Eastern European space. He holds a BA from Middlebury College and an MA from the University of Amsterdam in film studies and a PhD focused on the comparative study of the legacy of socialism in Chinese and Eastern European film from the National University of Singapore.
