“Love without words”: The new Bechstein piano in Dve Mogili meets the cello on Valentine’s Day

• Debut of the new concert piano: The concert is the first full performance on the professional C. Bechstein concert piano, which was donated to the community center last November.
• A symbol of friendship: The event is a gesture of cultural rapprochement and friendship between Bulgaria and Romania, bringing together art lovers from both sides of the Danube.

Dve Mogili, February 13 – On Friday at 6 p.m., the St. Cyril and Methodius 1919 Community Center in Dve Mogili will host a musical event entitled “Love Without Words.”

Symbolically scheduled on the eve of Valentine’s Day and St. Trifon Zarezan Day, the concert will feature cellist Emilia David—after a three-decade career with the Bucharest National Opera Orchestra—accompanied on piano by her son, David Chifiriuc. The event marks the first full concert performed on the C. Bechstein concert piano, donated to the institution last November.

The concert is conceived as a gesture of Romanian-Bulgarian friendship and offers a varied repertoire that goes beyond the boundaries of classical music. The program includes:

• Classical works (Vivaldi, Schubert, Brahms, Fauré, as well as an opera excerpt: G. Donizetti – the aria “Una furtiva lagrima”);

• International and local hits (Elvis Presley – “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” Adele – “Someone Like You,” as well as a tribute to the Bulgarian audience with the song “Snow” by Veselin Marinov);

• Traditional works from both sides of the Danube (“Hora Staccato” and “Grozdoberko horo”).

The audience is invited to enjoy this artistic moment and the sound of the new instrument on an evening that brings together music lovers from both sides of the Danube.

Admission to the event is free.
